Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, to design, develop, prototype, prove and maintain high quality, mechanical engineering in accordance with stakeholder requirements and specifications, and processes to meet project operational requirements. Create and perform fundamental mechanical analysis and suitably present this back to the project team. Create mechanical designs and manufacturing data packs for a variety of products, using PTC Creo in accordance with BS8888 considering design for manufacture, assembly and test. Provide ongoing CAD/design support to existing designs

•Understand Customer, statutory and product requirements and specifications.

•Undertake conceptual mechanical design. Assess merits of different design concepts and contribute to trade-off analyses.

•Use a variety of analysis techniques to evaluate and de-risk the design.

•Theoretical assessment of the design and its associated requirements to ensure that equipment performance requirements are met, including structural, dynamic, thermal analyses and SWaP.

•Reporting in both presentation and formal report formats to relevant stakeholders

•Support new product introduction including aspects of test and industrialization.

•Manage your assigned tasks to budget, schedule and quality.

•Act as a PEER reviewer for drawings and other product defining data enabling cross product knowledge

•Analyse engineering change requests and implement agreed change

•Knowledge of Civil / Military Aviation requirements and DO-254.

•Knowledge of designing for harsh environments to DO-160

•Monitor the satellites & ground-control system to verify operational status and detect & report anomalous conditions that could adversely affect operations.

•Execute scheduled commands on spacecraft & GCS according to procedure, operational note and daily activity schedule.

•Take effective actions, within given procedures, guidelines or specific instructions, to eliminate or minimize the effect of anomalous conditions on the satellites & GCS.

•Operate SCC equipment, I4S computer systems & GCS remote tools according to procedures, work practices or user guides.

•Work in a highly automated environment. Supervise the execution of automated procedures.

•Support the Backup SCC either as part of a scheduled or contingency operation as required.

•Assist spacecraft & flight dynamics analyst staff in investigations & data gathering in response to routine, anomalous or non-routine events on the satellites or GCS. This includes being part of an "incident team" during contingency operations.

•Participate in regular spacecraft training & simulation sessions.

•Maintain an accurate record of all SCC & GCS activities in electronic log book.

•Support to both external & in-house hardware and software support groups as required to troubleshoot or test the ground system.

•Assist in writing & testing I4S automated procedures.

•Support the S/C Analyst Group in writing satellite health & performance reports.

•Liaise with all remote TTC Station personnel, Inmarsat support groups, contractors and other relevant personnel in ensuring that real-time activities conducted by them or with them are in accordance with operational requirements & authorizations.

•Coordinate with the Network Operations Centre (NOC) on all matters affecting the payload of the satellites, together with areas of the GCS which are of mutual utilization.

•Liaise with members of SCC Operations management, Spacecraft Analysis or Flight Dynamics in all relevant matters, including real-time & off-line activities and tasks.

• Design products to meet customers' specifications & industry standards and provide design solutions to small engineering companies.

• Create engineering drawings to BS8888 standards and solve engineering problems arising from all product life-cycle stages.

• Produce process information reports to assist fabricators during production.

• Plan and estimate budgets of each project and produce quotations to customers.

• Occasionally visit client sites to discuss design ideas and chair design review meetings.

• Performed structural analysis and created CAD models in Solidworks.
