Salvadoran filmmaker, Social Communicator graduated from the José Simeón Cañas Central American University (UCA), with a Master's degree in Documentary Film from the Escola de Cinema de Barcelona (ECIB) and the Central University of Catalonia (UVic). She has attended different workshops and film training courses in El Salvador and abroad. Between the years 2019–2021, she participated in the Artist Training Digital Basics FILM programs, Universität der Künste, Berlin, and the Babelsberg Konrad Wolf Film University (Germany).
In 2021, Programa Ibermedia funded the development of Gabriela’s feature film project “Jaula Canina” (Relativo Films, El Salvador), on which she serves as director and executive producer.
Gabriela co-directed and executive produced the feature film “Lienzo en Blanco”, a co-production with Olympusat (USA) for film distribution in the United States and Latin America. The film premiered internationally in 2022 at the Chicago Latino Film Festival (USA) and had theatrical distribution in El Salvador in February. To this moment “Lienzo en Blanco” has also been selected for the AFI Latin American Film Festival, LATAFF Toronto Latin American Film Festival and have two awards in the Icaro Central America Film Festival: Best Script and Best Art Direction in fiction feauture film.
She is slated as director of episodes of the series “Motel” of producer Fabricio Sibrián, whose development is funded by Programa Ibermedia (2023).
