I have 25 years’ experience of working in the media, firstly as a newspaper journalist, starting in local papers and training with EMAP at the Peterborough Evening Telegraph then onto a year spent working as a journalist in Sydney, Australia and some work with the nationals back in the UK.
When the tech scene of the late 90s expanded I got a job writing for national tech title, Network Week and was subsequently promoted to news editor. I was then headhunted into my first PR firm, tech start-up, Rainier.
After taking a break for raising a family I set up my own PR service, working for local and regional businesses in a variety of industry and in both B2B and B2C capacities and also went on to freelance for other mainly B2B PR agencies in London and the South East.
My main areas of expertise are writing engaging and interesting content, from thought leadership pieces and bylines to blogs and succinct press releases, as well as punchy pitches and strong media relations skills, with many contacts within the media.
My work in Public Relations has been bolstered by my background in news and feature journalism and has resulted in a range of quality coverage for clients’ target media, whether that be industry-specific, Tier One, nationals and broadcast.
I am confident in working in both the B2B and B2C space and on a wide variety of subjects, from tech to business to culture and entertainment.
