Martin in a few words
Ex-management consultant with experience in tech (fintech) and exiting a business (PE), with experience in banking, fintech and healthcare. I consider myself a generalist but have had granular experience in a lot of business areas such as sales, marketing, financial planning, strategic planning, as well as selling a business which I led and exited recently.

I can work with senior management, CEO's and founders, but am also happy to get my hands dirty with data, and get involved in project management.
Experience
  • 18 Week Support
    Chief Strategy Officer
    October 2019 - December 2022 (3 years and 2 months)
    London, UK
18 Week Support is the leading provider of clinical insourcing to the NHS, a hugely growing market, which has gained the trust from the NHS as a reliable, flexible and value for money solution to support them with their capacity. I spent 3 years as an executive at 18 Weeks Support. In those 3 years, the company went through an accelerated period of growth, as well as a successful sale to a private equity firm. I carried out a variety of roles in these 3 years, within and outside the Chief Strategy Officer role, being responsible for a lot of executive, finance and IT/Data remits: M&A: Led on the successful sale of 18 Week Support to Summit Partners (PE), involving commercial and financial due diligence, financial modelling, investor presentations and negotiations, investor due diligence etc.. worked alongside prestigious investment banks, management consultants, accountants and lawyers. - Line managed the Chief Operations Officer and the Chief People Officer. Finance and strategy:
    - In the absence of a CFO, led on financial forecasting and all financial modelling
    - Carried out most of the financial and operational analysis in the business, hiring 4 top analysts and establishing a strategy/analysis team
    - Supported with pricing and establishing a pricing team IT/Data:
    - Implemented and optimised different systems for the business

  • IWOCA
    Manager
    May 2016 - January 2020 (3 years and 8 months)
    London, UK
Leading tech (fintech) company providing small businesses with a short-term loan product, focused on using technology and data to provide a solution which is much more sophisticated, user friendly and flexible than the banks. I started at iwoca post Series B, so I was lucky enough to be part of its scale up stage, where the company was growing rapidly. I was a little bit of a generalist in the business, working and reporting directly to the executive committee (CEO, COO, CMO), and helping out where the business needed it: 1) Headed the iwoca Spain team - mainly supported with the decision to withdraw from Spain. 2) Headed the UK Sales team - full pnl responsibility for this acquisition channel, reporting to the CMO and tasked to grow. 3) Worked on discrete projects - CRM marketing, product, strategy, operations for the UK team.
