Kairn is a smart project management tool built for your daily todo all the way to your complex work projects with your team. Do it all in one place, built for you, powered for your team. After years building an amazing tool, loved by thousands of users, we decided to close down. Our thesis was that the ideal project management app would be built for team members and not just managers. As such, it would be fully adopted by each member and projects would automatically update, as members progress on them on their daily views. However, we've realized that project management at the individual level is task management, and each person wants a very different tool, with a different framework for that. To build the app that fits everyone in the team, you need to build a fully flexible, block like app, where each person builds what fits them - that's Notion. As such, we would either need to build for managers (not where we believed a difference could be made), or rebuild Notion. The road is long for those wanting to build productivity apps that tinker to individuals within teams, the bottom-up motion is strenuous and we decided project management wasn't a pain strong enough to dedicate this time to.
