  • Industrial Gameworks
    Producer and Game Designer
    VIDEO GAMES & ANIMATION
    March 2020 - June 2021 (1 year and 3 months)
    Manchester, UK
Please note - Industrial Gameworks is a registered company, but is comprised of 2020 graduates in games design, development and technology and is completely voluntary and unpaid. We do not operate as an indie development studio, but as a group who have worked together on multiple mini-projects and game prototypes. The Industrial Gameworks team are currently working on their own projects at the time being. My last involvement with Industrial Gameworks was in Winter 2020.

    ——————

With the team, I participated in the Tranzfuser 2020 competition, with our entry being a 3D puzzle adventure game built for mobile devices, titled 'Vagrant Soul'; in Winter 2020, we developed our online social deduction game prototype, 'Carp DM'.

On Vagrant Soul – as a producer, I liaised with the project lead to discuss budget and scope of the project, use issue tracking software (GitKraken Glo) to assist in managing scope and to track progress, communicate with external parties who are involved in the Tranzfuser competition and development of the game, produce and manage weekly and monthly progress reports on individual team members, and assist in managing financial spending (and more).

For design, I assisted the project lead on story, environment, puzzle and interaction design, primarily by using Microsoft 365 tools and Adobe software. I am exploring other tools that can be utilised for a more streamlined design workflow.

On Carp DM – the game is an award-winning game jam entry where I graphic designed all UI for the game, as well as adding interaction elements. My direct artistic contribution has helped us become finalists for the 'Best 2D Art' in the GJL Game Parade 2020 game jam chosen by industry judges, and has helped us win 'Community Pick of Best Game' for the same game jam.
