Skill set (9)
Stewart in a few words
I studied architecture at the Manchester School of Architecture and gained both the BA(Hons) and BArch degrees. During this time, I explored a varied range of architectural subjects which included sustainability, materiality, architectural psychology and secured by design, which formed the basis of my dissertation thesis focused on designing out terrorism in modern transport interchanges.

In 2015 I began work as a part II architectural assistant at ADP LLP, where I spent almost 5 years developing my skills on numerous projects in the residential, healthcare, higher education and commercial sectors. I was part of a small yet dynamic design team which worked on refurbishment and new build university schemes, notably The Sir William Henry Bragg Building at the University of Leeds. I was able to gain my Part III qualification whilst acting as the project architect on the Wolfson Centre for Applied Health and Research at Bradford Royal Infirmary and later went on to project run the refurbishment and new build extension of the School of Medicine at the University of Liverpool. During my time at ADP LLP, I was also involved in the tender and construction of the RIBA North East winner of 2019, Spanish City.

Following my time at ADP LLP, I then worked at Stephenson Studio, where I was involved in the technical design and construction of the 13 storey Leonardo Hotel on Great Ancoats Street in Manchester. Most recently, I have worked as a freelance architect gaining experience on numerous residential projects, including home extensions, one off houses and residential developments. I have also worked on public house and restaurant conversions.
